Many law enforcement personnel prefer the GLOCK® 26 Gen5 9mm Semi-Auto Pistol as a backup subcompact pistol or for concealed carry. The G26 can use magazines from the GLOCK 9mm series (G19 and G17). The G26 features the same popular enhancements found on all Generation 5 GLOCK pistols, including as a beveled magwell, the Glock Marksman Barrel, and the removal of leaf springs in favor of new coil spring designs for enhanced longevity and reliability. The GLOCK 26 has an ambidextrous slide release and a reversible magazine catch. On the front and back of the slide, there are factory serrations. In addition, the front of the pistol has been beveled to make reholstering easier.
GLOCK’s latest ion-bonded nDLC coating on the slide and barrel is a truer black than prior generations, with increased ability to perform in dry environments. The front strap no longer includes finger grooves, allowing any finger size to fit comfortably around the grip, which has been a long-requested feature. The MBS (Modular Backstrap System) from GLOCK lets you to add or remove backstop parts, including a beaver tail for individuals with larger hands. Slide bite is no longer an issue.
