Winchester Model 70 Featherweight Bolt-Action Rifle
$949.99
The Winchester Model 70 Featherweight Bolt-Action Rifle is slightly slimmer, trimmer, and lighter weight than the Sporter model to enhance fast handling as well as ease of carry. The Featherweight employs the same controlled-round, claw-extractor as the “pre-’64” style, which grabs the cartridge rim shortly after it leaves the magazine and guides it to the chamber. First, regardless of the angle the rifle is held, preventing jams caused by double feeding. A solid blade-type ejector reliably clears empty cases from the action. While the large claw, Mauser-type extractor provides maximum surface contact on the cartridge’s rim for sure extraction of the spent casing.
With the safety engaged in the middle position, the shooter can load or unload the Model 70 Featherweight. Again, when carrying the rifle in rugged terrain, the bolt is locked down with the safety fully to the rear. Making it extremely unlikely that it will be accidentally knocked to the fire position. Winchester’s M.O.A.TM Trigger System has no “creep” and no “overtravel” after the firing pin is removed. The excellent trigger, in conjunction with the hammer-forged, free-floating barrel. Also forged steel receiver with a bedded integral recoil lug, provides exceptional accuracy.
The walnut stock is satin-finished and has cut checkering, a Schnabel fore-end, and a Pachmayr recoil pad. The Winchester Model 70 Featherweight Bolt-Action. Rifle is an excellent choice for experienced hunters looking for a quick-handling rifle that performs admirably with modern, long-range cartridges.
